Have a good one!

And so on to Istanbul with it's seedy opium dens and it's pleasantly scented yet slightly obscene pencils. I hastened to the nearest hash-house, slumped deftly in to the first vacant Bubblebooth and ordered a Hilp of Morrocan Wubwub (a delicate blend that made your fa…

I saw Stewart Lee perform the other week. Lee is loved by his audience, and is a standup comedian at the top of his game – but even he felt bound to apologise at the end of the show, when he announced he was going to sing a song. "No one thinks it's a good sign," said Lee, "when a comedian picks up a guitar."
Old prejud…

The 5 mistakes I’ve noticed new comedians make quite a bit.
First of all - I’m not a comedian, but I am a pretty obsessive comedy fan, so take this advice not from an experienced performer, but with the ‘pinch-of-salt’ and contempt it deserves.
1. Too honest too early.
British comedy has taken a (rather delightful) turn towards self-confessional rants and revealing personal embarrassing information. Whilst this can endear the audience to you, it should be left until after you’ve made some dec…

So, this seems to be moving a bit slow. :( Harumph.
I'm going to urge you to build your community, if, (a big if) you thing this place is a worthwhile idea, and if you know people who might like it, tell them about it. And add content. Then tell them about that. Post it on message boards, twitter about it, facebook about it, blog elsewhere about it! Thank you very much to everybody who's added content so far, it's pretty wicked!
Or let me know what would make this work, in fact i'm going to st…

The Flinstones, they were stone-punk right? In fact isn't SteamPunk just a logical extension of something we've all had with us since the sixties?
Yes, the answer is yes.
They really were the modern stone age family.

Does anybody else get this? When doing something unrelated fires a memory of something, or someone, or a place you used to know very well, but haven't thought about in years. Which then triggers a feeling of nostalgia.
Yet all you're doing is reaching for the remote, but you're filled with a feeling of summers spent riding your bike around the park nearly two decades ago. Eeek!
It's even weirder when I have strong memories of the layouts of video game levels I've Not played in ten years!
Doubl…

Hello all,
I am currently in the market for a pub venue which my fledgling comedy group can call home... We would need a private space (function room, basement, vault etc) for a couple of hours a week where we could talk, perform, rehearse and write etc, and then we would stick around for a few drinks/food etc. (Probably a Mon or Tue night).
Then once a month (or every couple of months) we would do a showcase, and pack the room with punters eager to laugh and spend their hard earned cash on ex…

I just created a group, for people in Brighton, only because that's where I live! So if you're in Brighton why not add yourself?
You've got some nerve not adding yourself yet buddy!
If you don't live in Brighton (which does not compute by the way!) why not create your own local group, it's-a easy!
Cheers M'dears,
Lloyd

For several years now Zombie Raper has been a side project of a couple of friends (and myself tagging along as Zombie Rapers first groupie), initially being a script for the greatest film never made, we have gone through a few different incarnations.
After several stops and starts and a long time on the back-burner whilst we all worked on other projects, we have decided to ressurect Zombie Raper into a comic book and are currently re-writing it to suit the medium.
Our major stumbling block is…

Exciting news...
I have been booked to perform on the Saturday night at the
Endorse it in Dorset Festival on August 8th
This is the first year that there has been a Comedy Tent and the line up is fantastic. Amongst others, there are Bentley, Ian Cognito, Del Strain, Susan Murray, Susan Vale, Hacksaw and Lobotomy, Paul B Edward and Tim Ewins. I'm the penultimate act on the Saturday night, just before the hilarious Ashley Frieze.
I'd love to see you th…

My friend Andrew is the first person in my group of friends to be expecting a child! Exciting times, and he somewhat foolishly told me about it, and I code-named the foetus. Its name is Optimus, or, "The Prime-Meister."
Optimus has four hearts, plus subsidiaries; Optimus is a Double Time Lord. Optimus will be the teacher's son, so no-one can make fun of Optimus. Optimus will be the pillar of the community, those who don't want Optimus will want to be Optimus. Optimus will be fearsome to behold.…

I am shocked to the very core of my being that Plotkin, he of many curries and oodles of strong stout, has not joined me on my 'followers' page. Plotkin: to whom I proffered endless supplies of Twixes, HobNobs, bumper packs of KitKats and Nescafe Gold Blend in order to make writing in his oubliette in Brighton a conducive and much more pleasurable task. Plotkin, the trekkie and Sci-Fi devotee, who googled my Commander Urcoh/Babylon 5 comment on twitter and made me puce with embarrassment by his…

So... that's it then. Twelve years of schooling. Ah. I remember when I were a wee lass, my first day of school. I hid behind my mum in her hippy clothes because my cardigan wasn't the same colour as everyone elses. Bless my mother for forcing individuality on me. And I remember playing out in the playground with other children I didn't know or like. Not a care in the world. This all came back to me yesterday as I was making the bracing walk across the playground to the FatBiologyMan's room. Now.…

I was in Costa Coffee again, and a thought struck me. (This happens too often - I wish they'd stop striking me & leave me to my mind numbing boredom once in a while.) Anyway, the thought that smacked me down good this time was how stupid we've all been. The animal kingdom has been involved in a conspiracy to kill us all and we've been sat around discussing the benefits of face masks and making jokes about flying pigs! Those swines that be the subject of our sniggers are currently indulging i…
